Experimental Energetic and Exergetic Performance of a Combined Solar Cooking and Thermal Energy Storage System

Most solar cookers usually perform a single task of solely cooking food during sunshine hours. Solar coupled with thermal energy storage (TES) material for off-sunshine are expensive and require complex engineering designs, cannot be used dual purposes, example, water heating cooking. In this paper, cooker that can tasks as well storing to periods is presented. The experimental setup composed parabolic dish, receiver flat plate an oil-circulating copper coil charging discharging tank. objective the experiment evaluate exergy performance parameters dual-purpose system cycles. effect flow rate mass load investigated while using sunflower oil both heat transfer fluid material. Charging experiments conducted four different rates (2, 3, 4, 5 mL/s), masses (0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.0 kg) test loads. results show average their corresponding efficiencies increase in rate. On other hand, tends decrease marginally water, efficiencies. For oil, showed more pronounced mass. Water generally shows higher compared results, correlations between respect not defined possibly due initial tank temperatures at onset inefficient process which needs optimized future.
